Breakfast Market

This weekend I decided to head over to the Breakfast Market, and man was it worth it. IT was the coolest thing ever. It had the best breakfast sandwich ever... I literally mean ever. The market was inside and there was such a variety.

Literally the best sandwich: pulled pork, pouched egg, special ketchup and I don't even know what else...on a fresh baked bun. nom nom nom.

Next month's todo list!

Random hanging boots.

Love the street art along the East Side Gallery.

Really amazing, too bad it's only ever third Sunday of every month.

Whistler

In February I was fortunate enough to get flown to Vancouver to spend a week riding with my parents. It was a really fun trip and I got one of the best days of riding ever, foot and a half of fresh pow on the morning we decided to do first tracks.

Olympic Rings!

Mumford and Sons

So last night was probably one of the coolest nights of my life. It all started Friday night. I had found out that Mumford and sons had played a low key show at a club in Berlin. I was a little disappointed that I missed out but since it was sold out so long ago I didn't mind so much.

Saturday morning I get a message from a friend saying that Mumford and sons had left an encrypted message on their facebook page suggesting that they were going to do another night. We frantically tried to find the link to get tickets, and when we did they were sold out.

We took to facebook. Scavenging everywhere looking for some people that had an extra ticket. It began to feel hopeless. Then, my friend sounds someone with a ticket, so we had one. Out of no where a girl messaged me saying that she had an extra ticket if I wanted it...well needless to say I did.

It came time to go to the club and meet up with the people we were getting tickets from and go in. We were so excited. Beyond excited. Everything went as planned, we all got our tickets and made it into the concert of a lifetime.

Within 7 hours I went from learning the concert existed to being inside.

We had to hand in out phones to a phone check, and then take our coats to coat check. They took the phones and no cameras allowed because Mumford and sons played their new album that doesn't come out until May...check it out...it's pretty awesome.

So I found my friends who had a beer waiting for me, and we settled in to our spot at the front of the stage.

It wasn't long before the fog machines started.

Then band walked out on stage, less then ten feet from us, and in complete visibility.

After almost 7 years I was finally getting to see one of my favourite bands, in a venue with less than 100 people. No shoving. No overheated room.

The band started to play and the room was completely silent.

Just listening to the music, no looking at phones, no taking pictures or videos to look back at later. Just living in the moment and listening to this amazing band play their new stuff.

It was epic, best concert I have ever been to, truly about the music and the people there.

The songs were really good, although their sound has changed a lot since the beginning it sounds to be a really good album.

No one knew the songs they were playing so it was really cool to be in a room of people listening to a familiar band but not knowing the songs.

They talked to the audience and the audience talked back in some places, mostly making fun of Coldplay and the fact that they didn't speak German... the band was so respectful and thankful to everyone who made an effort to come out and see them. Really humble.

All in all a night for the record books.

Loading up for their next destination.

For anyone that tree plants --- band version of a reefer.

Limited edition concert t-shirt

Phone bags!

Defiantly took an item off the bucket list: Find out about a secret concert, scalp tickets and go to the concert all in one day.

Birthday 23rd Edition!

My birthday was really special here in Berlin. I work up to cake and presents for breakfast!!! When I told my mom she was horrified, but I thought it was the best thing ever and it should be a global tradition.

This was pretty  funny

We went out for a really nice Italian dinner and I got more cake!!

The Boys helped me to make cupcakes to bring to school for my German class because that is the tradition on your birthday.

Such an amazingly good cake, and for breakfast!!

One of the best birthdays ever :)

Prague

The Family and I went to Prague this weekend. It was awesome, I had such a nice room with the most gorgeous bathtub. They had left a bottle of orange soda in the room for the kids, but they didn't wan it, so I got it. It was pretty marginal but fun either way.

We had the most amazing weather, perfect for wandering around. IT was nice to get some sun for a change.

We stumbled on to a cool sports store that had full hocker gear, P really wanted to try it all on so I got him dressed like a real hockey player. He was ecstatic for hours.

The original purpose for going to Prague was to see the European Athletic Track and Field Championship. It was super cool to see. The pole vaulters and high jumpers were by far my favourite. Seeing the sprinting was also really cool. I had never been to an international event like that so it was pretty special.

We found a pirate themed candy ship (I means shop), very cool with a lot of wonderful candy.

Awesome way to spend a weekend!!
