Packing

Packing SUCKS.

I have decided to bring my snowboard with me - which means my snowboard bag. I have stuffed not only my snowboard equipment into it, but also my hockey skates & hockey stick, rock climbing shoes & chalk, and 7+ pairs of shoes (including Doc Martens and rain boots). After stuffing all this into my snowboard bag, it weighs 21kg..Hopefully my home travel scale and the one at the airport are on the same page.

My main suitcase still sits mostly empty.

I work Thursday. Friday I write my A1 German language exam.  Saturday I am a co-host of a big halloween party. Sunday I am attending my Undergraduate Convocation. My flight is on the following Wednesday. All this being said, I am not sure how to begin to tackle packing, while studying and planning.

One of my main priorities is to make sure the clothes I am packing, are clothes that will be worn. I am trying to downsize my wardrobe, only keeping pieces that I actually enjoy wearing. It is also tricky to keep in mind that I need to pack for all four seasons.

My main aim for my flight itself is to be asleep for 80% of it. I leave YUL at 8pm EST Wednesday and arrive at TXL at 1pm UTC. I am going to need to have slept at least 6 hours. Since I have a layover in LHR, I'll be awake for the 2 hours flight from there to TXL. Having said that, I intend to try and not over pack my backpack with unneeded items, given that I will hopefully be sleeping.

I am taking a second carry-on to put a fresh set of clothes for when I arrive in LHR ( so when I arrive in Berlin, I don't feel so grungy), some gifts, my laptop, and other fragile items. I think I might even include my slippers so I can have more comfy shoes on the plane, and don't have to be one of those hated people who take their shoes off in an inclosed space.

All in all the next week is going to be filled with trying to tackle packing along with all the other plans that the weekend holds.
